Intro to Arboleda Chardonnay –

Arboleda Chardonnay is full of ripe fruit flavours yet is an elegant wine with a long flavour.

Full tasting note and wine making –

Arboleda Chardonnay is yellow-straw colour with golden hues. It is fine and delicately structured with good balance. The fresh, complex nose offers tropical fruits aromas such as pineapple and papaya framed by subtle notes of nuts. The palate offers impressively vibrant acidity with a smooth chalky texture and a persistent and long finish.

The grapes for this wine are grown in the Chilhué Vineyard in Aconcagua Costa, where cool maritime breezes refresh the vines through the vineyards.

2020 was a dry and healthy year, warmer than historical averages, with November and February as the hottest months, giving way to an early vintage. The quality of our vineyards was demonstrated once again given the climatic fluctuations, droughts and high temperatures, delivering grapes of outstanding sanitary conditions and great concentration.

The grapes were fermented with native yeasts in French oak barrels and lasted 14-20 days at 16‰-22‰C. and 40% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation.

A brilliant match for roast chicken.

The producer –

Viña Arboleda was founded in 1999 by Eduardo Chadwick. The philosophy behind this project was to craft single-vineyard wines that reveal the purest expression of each unique terroir within the vineyards of the Aconcagua Valley.

Arboleda, which means ‘a grove of trees’, is a tribute to the more than 1,450ha of native forest that surround the estate’s sustainably managed vineyards.

Arboleda wines are made at the stunning Errazuriz winery in Panquehue which was first established in 1870 when Errazuriz’s founder, Don Maximiano Errazuriz, the ancestor of Eduardo Chadwick, first brought vines to the Aconcagua Valley.  The beautiful original 1870 building still stands with the spectacular underground cellars still being used. Two brand new winery buildings were completed in 2010.

It is a great match with grilled and roasted white meats, fish, shellfish, pizza, pasta, salads, casseroles and mild creamy cheeses.
