Full tasting note and distilling –
Black Bridge Strawberry & Lime Gin is a wonderfully fresh Strawberry and Lime Gin concocted with fresh British strawberries and zingy Florida Key Lime, this wonderful pairing is a fantastic addition to our range. Coming in at a bold 43% this is real gin, packing a serious punch & building on the base notes of our ever favorite London Dry Small Batch gin. We macerate fresh picked British strawberry and hand selected limes before another round of distillation in our double retort rum still, Infusing these fantastic flavors for the perfect long drink.
The producer –
Black Bridge Distillery, named from a bridge which once stood in the village of Wheathampstead in 1897. It is now part of the old gravel pits to west of the village popular with walkers and country cycle enthusiasts. Although the distillery has since moved from Wheathampstead to the Luton Hoo Country Estate a few miles away, we still maintain strong links with the village as the family still live, and are active members of the local community. Black Bridge distillery was officially formed in 2017 by two friends Ash & Luke, with one shared passion, Moonshine.
Having over a decade in the moonshine scene, Ash was persuaded to take the recipes, flavours and unique approach to distillates into the commercial sphere where immediately the products started winning awards.
The business officially ran its first bottles of moonshine off the still in April 2017 to great success and our Still ‘Katherine’, continues to produce an array of spirits for the Black Bridge Distillery and the people of Hertfordshire.
Ash’s Story
The dream of opening a distillery and making spirits had been my dream for over 15 years. Initially life within the Royal Navy Submarine Service prevented such a dream been establishing as I was never here in the UK long enough to start a business.
Having saved for over ten years, met my Fiancée and had our son, it became clear that if we were to pursue this dream we needed to stop dreaming and start working! I got to work and designed a 350 ltr Stainless Steel and Copper Still with the aim of creating a modular system capable of being modified very easily dependent upon the type of spirit wanted. I contracted an associate for the build and testing and within 3 months we had our still ‘Katherine’. Now operating from the newly refurbished facility at the Luton Hoo Country Estate we produce literally thousands of bottles a week for lots of different clients and brands, chances are you’ve already tried our gin and never knew…
To serve –
We recommend serving our gins, firstly neat to truly appreciate the wonderful flavor combinations. If however you prefer your gin a little more tame we love this expression in any combination of long summer drinks, plenty of ice and fresh strawberries!!
Flagship Wines uses a reliable carrier with a robust national delivery network providing a speedy convenient service to UK mainland addresses.
Deliveries are made Monday to Friday and not normally on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays though Saturday deliveries are possible on payment of an additional charge.

If you wish to collect your order from Flagship Wines shop at 417 Hatfield Road, St Albans, AL4 0XP please click on this option at checkout. There is no charge for this service.
Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.

Non UK Mainland addresses
For charges applicable for delivery to remote addresses such as the Scottish Highlands and Islands please note that different charges apply and these are clearly shown at checkout. The charges are per case of 12 x 75cl bottles and the delivery time will be a little longer due to the location.
