Intro to Ch des Jacques Moulin a Vent –
Ch des Jacques Moulin a Vent is a very different style of Beaujolais Cru which shows the potential of really well made Cru Beaujolais.
Full tasting note and wine making –
Intense aromas of ripe red fruit intermingled with irises, roses and hints of spice. Surprising depth and muscularity on the palate, with dry, fleshy tannins and a firm acidic crispness to the finish. The King of Beaujolais Cru, showing the potential of well-made Beaujolais. Succulent and structured, blended from the estate’s various Clos.
Louis Jadot purchased the Château des Jacques estate in Moulin à Vent at the end of 1996. The estate is well known as one of the most prestigious in Beaujolais and is made up of 6 different “clos” totalling 28.78 ha, which are now all vinified seperately. The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed before fermentation and the wine is barrel aged to create a wine with rich and succulent Gamay fruit as well as having the concentration and structure to develop in bottle.
The producer –
From the tip of Chablis to the toe of Beaujolais, from regional, village, 1er Cru and Grand Cru wines Louis Jadot produces Burgundy and nothing but Burgundy. The familiar Bacchus head label has become the reliable stamp of quality and consistency from what can often be a confusing region.
Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded the business in 1859. His vision was to build a business with a high quality reputation. One of his key aims, as well as to make top wines, was to build a significant vineyard base. This vision remains core to the business today.
Today the business is headed up by Pierre Henry Gagey, son of Andre Gagey, who was entrusted with the management of Louis Jadot in 1962 by Madame Jadot following the tragic death of her son, Louis Auguste Jadot. Pierre Henry is a passionate believer in terroir, allowing the wines to present the very essence of Burgundy.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
