DeMorgenzon Sauvignon Blanc from Stellenbosch in South Africa has upfront aromas of passion fruit and citrus greet the nose following through to a rich palate yielding ripe fruit flavours with a nettle edge. A brisk acidity and stony minerality give natural freshness and length.
The fruit for DMZ Sauvignon Blanc is selected from premium trellised vineyards located in cooler areas of the Western Cape namely Faure, Durbanville, Stellenboschkloof and Elgin. The vines are between 6 and 10 years old. It was cold settled overnight without the use of enzymes, then inoculated with selected yeasts, to preserve fruit flavours during fermentation. A long, cool fermentation was followed by extended time on the lees with periodic lees stirring to ensure texture and flavour marriage.
DeMorgenzon is a rapidly rising star of Stellenbosch, the Estate positively bubbling with excitement, energy and ambition. Attention to detail and perfectionist standards have elevated DeMorgenzons reputation since Hylton and Wendy Applebaums acquisition of the estate in 2003.
Famous for their Maestro blends and Reserve Chenin Blanc; since 2008 Baroque music has been piped into the vineyards all day, every day. The effects of sound and music on plant growth is an intriguing subject, the energy of the sound waves rather than the sounds themselves serving to stimulate and nurture the growing vines. A number of experiments have taken place to assess these claims and the effects and point towards an increase in vigour, root growth and general vine health. Music is also streamed throughout DeMorgenzons cellars, surrounding the wines in rich sound waves.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
