Intro to Domaine de Sautereau Sancerre –
Domaine de Sautereau Sancerre has delicious crisp citrus notes and a lingering taste.
Full tasting note and wine making –
This wine has a pale yellow colour with an expressive and elegant nose. Aromas of citrus and gooseberry are complemented by floral and limestone notes which follow through on to the rounded palate. Medium-bodied with a crisp, saline finish.
The Domaine’s 22 hectares of vineyard are situated mainly in Crézancy, with a tiny proportion located in Bué and the village of Sancerre itself. The range of soils in this area, many of which are predominantly calcerous, allows David a good spread of different blending components for the wine, giving more complex and varied flavours.
The pressed grapes were fermented in stainless-steel tanks at relatively cool temperatures of 16-19ºC in order to preserve the purity and aromatics of the fruit.
The producer –
The Sautereau family has been producing wine for nine generations in the village of Crézancy, seven kilometres from the town of Sancerre. The winery is now run by David Sautereau, who makes modern, attractive wines that offer excellent value for money. David’s 15 hectares are spread over the villages of Crézancy, Bué and Sancerre, which ensures that the best of the Sancerre appellation is available for his blend.
David’s careful and orderly approach in his small, immaculate cellar is reflected in the purity of his wines. The range of soils gives David many blending components, ensuring that his Sancerre has a touch of minerality on the palate that combines nicely with the aromatic gooseberry-fruit character on the nose. David’s Sancerre Rosé, made solely from Pinot Noir, is pale salmon in colour, with bright strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
