Jadot Meursault Burgundy is the quintessence of Meursault, crisp and fine in youth with a beguiling minerality, this great wine will develop richness and complexity in bottle.
Meursault is the centre of the four communes ( Meursault, Blagny, Chassagne and Puligny) that make up that part of the Côte de Beaune known as the “Côte de Blancs”, known for the quality and predominance of its white wines.
After the challenges thrown at them in 2012, Bourgogne winemakers were hoping for a peaceful 2013. But capricious Mother Nature had other ideas. Defying all weather forecasts, she never let up. After a long winter, a gloomy spring and a fine, providential summer, for the most part, harvest had to wait until the start of October. The consequences of the weather’s whims: damage to the vines and rot all had an impact on the quantities harvested. Across the region, no winegrowing area was spared. Fortunately, tastings suggest that 2013 is a very successful vintage. Once again, experience has made all the difference.
Jadot Meursault is 100% fermented in wooden barrels and aged 15 months in the barrels before bottling
From the tip of Chablis to the toe of Beaujolais, from regional, village, 1er Cru and Grand Cru wines Louis Jadot produces only Burgundy. The Jadot label has become the reliable stamp of quality and consistency from what can often be a confusing region. Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded the business in 1859. His vision was to build a business with a high quality reputation and a significant vineyard base. This vision remains core to the business today.
Over time, prestigious acquisitions have included Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin Clos St Jacques. Plus the picturesque Santenay Clos de Malte and Premier Cru sites in Puligny Montrachet, Savigny Les Beaune and Corton Grand Cru to name but a few.
Today the business is headed up by Pierre Henry Gagey, following following the tragic death of Louis Auguste Jadot. Pierre Henry is a passionate believer in terroir, allowing the wines to present the very essence of Burgundy.
