Intro to Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc –
The Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch has aromas of lime, winter melon and apple fruit on the nose that are complemented by layers of citrus and herbs on the palate. Complex well integrated French oak flavours give this wine a creamy mouth feel and an elegant finish.

Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc is an exceptional Chenin Blanc; this magical harmony of citrus fruit, melon and apple flavours is supported by complex well integrated French oak nuances. This gives a creamy mouth feel and an elegant, long and fresh finish.
Halfway through fermentation, the wine was transferred into oak barrels of which 30% was new with a 12-month barrel maturation.
The Family Reserve wines are the flagship wines in the Kleine Zalze portfolio. The grapes for these wines are selected from exceptional quality single vineyards on the estate. Only the best new oak barrels are used for maturation and special attention is given throughout the wine making process. Family Reserve wines are available in limited quantities and only produced in exceptional vintages.
The producer –
Kleine Zalze is a family owned winery situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Winemaking has taken place there on a small scale since 1695 but it was in 1996, when Kobus Basson and his family purchased the property, that the modern Kleine Zalze was born. In 1996 the estate’s soils were scientifically mapped, evaluated and replanted according to their specific terroir characteristics and potential. Continuous investment over more than 20 years has seen the winery evolve into one of the most awarded in Stellenbosch.
Kleine Zalze wines are marked by classical structure and complexity matched by a vibrant flavour intensity. Discernibly South African in style, they are refreshing, beautifully balanced and well suited to food. They are made according to traditional methods, with minimal cellar intervention but supported by modern winemaking equipment.

Deliveries are made Monday to Friday and not normally on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays though Saturday deliveries are possible on payment of an additional charge.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
