Intro to Ladoix le Clou d’Orge Blanc Burgundy –
Ladoix le Clou d’Orge Blanc Burgundy is a very elegant and balanced wine, full of fleshy stone fruits with just a hint of spice.
Full tasting note and wine making –
Ladoix le Clou d’Orge Blanc Burgundy
From the foothill of Corton, named after a barley field that was planted here before it became a vineyard that now delivers fresh, fleshy and harmonious wines.
This vineyard is located on a soft slope with a nice exposure. The soil is stony and not very deep. The vineyard is about twenty years old and is cultivated by Maison Louis Jadot since 2007.
Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by our cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling.
This vintage probably the most successful vintage since 2015 but unlike both this vintage the yields were kind to the growers such were the perfect weather conditions from bud break through to harvest. Isolated localised thunderstorms in July brought with them a sprinkling of rain. The vines remained healthy and the sun shone consistently throughout summer. There was an excellent levels of ripeness that lead us to expect great white wines that will be both rich and opulent but balanced by appropriate levels of freshness
The producer –
Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by founder Louis-Henry Jadot in 1859. They have carefully striven to establish and maintain the quality of our wines for 160 years through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy.
Over a century and a half later, they now produce wines from over 150 appellations – from Beaujolais Villages to Le Montrachet.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
