Intro to L’Or du Sud Sauvignon Blanc –
L’Or du Sud Sauvignon Blanc is a dry, fruity, crisp wine with citrus and tropical fruit aromas and is vibrant with citrus fruit and pear flavours on the palate.
Full tasting note and wine making –
The l’Or du Sud Sauvignon Blanc is a well balanced elegant wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on eight different vineyards in the Languedoc Roussillon region in the South of France. It is grown on north facing slopes in this very warm region of France to ensure ripening is slower and to preserve the natural fruit acidity that makes the wine so intense and refreshing to taste. When the grapes are picked they undergo a light pressing followed by time for the lees to settle in cold tanks before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It is then left on the lees and has up to 4 months aging in tank before bottling.
The producer –
Les Vignobles Foncalieu is one of the largest co-operatives in France with over 1000 growers spread across Languedoc-Roussillon, Gascony and the Rhone Valley and the growers involved have been producing wine since 1901. Various co-operatives have merged since then and it has been in its current guise since 1967. Foncalieu produces wines under their own labels and also for other companies under their own label exporting worldwide. They are able to use the benefit of the different terroirs of their growers, the expertise in the vineyards and also in their wineries to produce quality wines and have continuous innovation in all areas.
The co-operative is also at the forefront of developing sustainable production across their areas to guarantee quality by respecting the terroir, maintaining biodiversity on the land, drip-irrigation, grass cover, and a keen recycling programme and using renewable energy in the vineyards and wineries.
Drink with –
This wine is a great as an aperitif and a delicious accompaniment to light fish dishes, asparagus and some cheeses such as Comte.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
