Intro to Manzanos Tempranillo Rioja –
Manzanos Tempranillo Rioja is a classic example of a youthful joven Rioja with delicious blend of fruit, spice and hint of chocolate flavours.
Full tasting noteand wine making –
Manzanos Tempranillo Rioja has intense cherry red colour, ripe black and red fruits, spices, liquorice and chocolate aroma. Round and well-balanced with fruit notes.
The grapes used in this wine are from vines in La Muga and Los Poyatos vineyards which are mostly very old Tempranillo bush vines. The really healthy grapes were harvested and after slow fermentation in tank at controlled temperatures the wine was transferred to barrel. A mixture of a very few of new American oak barrels, just to give the spice and toast aromas but mostly 2nd and 3rd year barrels of predominantly French oak were used to promote the evolution of the wine from a bright fruit bomb to something more mellow with a roundness and the unmistakeable stamp of something good. All of the wine spends 6 months in the oak barrels, of which only 10% are new.

On the border between Rioja and Navarra, Victor Manzanos carries on the work of the four generations before him.
With over 250ha of owned vineyards at his disposal, including some of the oldest vines in Rioja, Bodegas Manzanos is fortunately placed to put both the sub-region of Rioja Oriental and the name Manzanos firmly on the map as one of the most important areas and producers in Rioja. This range of wines is a modern take on the traditional landscape of Rioja, championing the native grape varieties, Tempranillo, Viura and Garnacha. The team is the youngest in the region, a talented a group of people with the sole purpose of making wines that people will enjoy
Drink with –
This is a fairly simple fruit driven wine, so simple pasta and meat dishes like bolognaise are ideal.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
