Intro to Pazos de Lusco Albarino –
Lusco Albarino is a vibrant, bright, and relatively full-bodied wine. It has a powerful nose with aromas of fresh herbs, tropical fruits and floral tones. Fresh and complex on the palate, the wine is unctuous, soft and refined.
Full tasting note and wine making –
Meaning ‘sunset’ in the local Galician dialect, Lusco is a vibrant, bright, and relatively full-bodied Albariño. It is a bright colour with a powerful nose with aromas of fresh herbs, tropical fruits and floral tones. It has a dry taste with citrus notes of grapefruit and pineapple giving great vibrancy and zest. Full smooth and round on the palate.
All the grapes are handpicked and transported to the winery in small boxes to preserve the fruit as much as possible. The best bunches are selected at the winery and after a short maceration the grapes are lightly pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel vats followed by six months on the lees to to give it a more rounded and full bodies palate.
The producer –
The winery joined the Gonzalez Byass family of wine in 2016, Pazos de Lusco is an artisanal Rías Baixas producer crafting elegant and expressive Albariño wines. Located just 2 kilometres from the Portuguese border in the sub-region of Condado de Tea, the wines are characteristic of this inland region, typically richer and fuller than their coastal counterparts.
At the heart of the estate lies the majestic manor house, known as Pazo Piñeiro, which dates back to the 16th century. Surrounding the Pazo are five hectares of vineyards where the vines are trained in the traditional Pergola system; on high trellises to maximize sun exposure and increase air circulation to maintain perfectly healthy bunches of grapes.

Deliveries are made Monday to Friday and not normally on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays though Saturday deliveries are possible on payment of an additional charge.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
