Intro to Tapiz Alta Collection Cabernet Franc
Tapiz Alta Collection Cabernet Franc is from a single vineyard – San Pablo Estate in the Uco Valley in Mendoza and has great balance of berry fruits, mint and spice.
Full tasting note and wine making –
Tapiz Alta Collection Cabernet Franc has a deep ruby red colour and complex aromas, characteristic of violets, raspberries, wild mint and spicy notes. It is medium-bodied with remarkable elegance and balance, leading to delicately sweet and subtle tannins. All the fruit is from a single vineyard – the San Pablo Estate in the Uco Valley in Mendoza.
The vineyards are 1350 meters above sealevel and this high altitude results in a climate characterized by cold nights due to the proximity of the mountains and altitude, it gives wines of great intensity in colour, aroma and structure They are premium and aged wines.
During fermentation cold pre-maceration takes place at 8ºC for 5 days after which the juice is fermented in
stainless steel tanks for approximately 14 days at 28ºC then rests on the lees for 16 days and 100% undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Thi is followed by ten months aging in French Oak Barrels of 225 liters: 15% first use and the rest in barrels of second and third use.
Tapiz Alta Collection – To celebrate the addition of Jean Claude Berrouet (World famous winemaker from Pomerol) as Consultant Winemaker, Tapiz released a new “Alta Collection” line of wines in 2013. The “Alta
Collection” fruit comes from Tapiz’s sustainably-farmed estate vineyards in Uco Valley, Mendoza. Chief winemaker Fabian Valenzuela and Jean Claude work together to create a beautiful tapiz (tapestry) between the wine’s intense, high altitude fruit and its oak aging.

Tapiz is a fantastic state of the art winery producing superb wines at great value prices. They are dedicated to sustainable practises and have recently been certified GLOBAL G.A.P (a global partnership for Good Agricultural Practice). They have vineyards in Mendoza and also further afield even as far as Salta in the far north which are blessed by a consistent combination of sun, soil and cooling glaciers providing the base for making quality wines.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
