Intro to Tapiz Seleccion de Barricas –
Tapiz Seleccion de Barricas is an intensely aromatic vibrant wine full of dark berry fruit, coffee and chocolate overlain with soft vanilla oak notes.
Full tasting note and wine making –
The deep red color anticipates the aromatic intensity of this wine that is full of aromas and flavours of blackberries, raspberries and dried plums, as well as notes of spices and cassis. Its passage through oak provides well integrated notes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. The tannins are ripe and friendly and well integrated into the exquisite wine.
To produce this wine, the winemaker select every year the best 80 barrels in the winery , we have around 2000, and blend them, that wine spent around 12 month in the barrel as a single varietal, after the blending, wine goes back to barrel for 6six or more months. As in the winery the majority of varietals are Malbec, Cabernet and Merlot, then the proportion of these varieties is always higher in the wine.
SAN PABLO ESTATE is 4430 feet (1350 meters) above sea level and is characterized by cold nights due to the proximity of the mountains and altitude, it gives wines of great intensity in color, aroma and structure, destined for premium and aged wines.
The wine undergoes cold pre-maceration at 8ºC for five to eight days to extract colour and aromas followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks for approximately ten to fourteen days at 28ºC and 100% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. It is then aged for eighteen months ageing in new French oak barrels. The wine is stored in the bottle at least for twelve months before its release.

They are dedicated to sustainable practises and have recently been certified GLOBAL G.A.P (a global partnership for Good Agricultural Practice). They have vineyards in Mendoza and also further afield even as far as Salta in the far north which are blessed by a consistent combination of sun, soil and cooling glaciers providing the base for making quality wines.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
