Intro to Vidal Fleury Cotes du Ventoux –
Vidal Fleury Cotes du Ventoux from the Rhone Valley has vibrant fruit that is balanced with judicious oak aging that also enhances its character. It is made from a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan.
Full tasting note and wine making –
Vidal Fleury Ventoux is a dark red colour with blueberry, cranberry, sherry, violet and a hint of spice aromas and on the palate it is a full bodied wine with black fruits and scrubland aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and a proportion is matured in oak barrels for 4 months.
The Vidal Fleury Ventoux rouge is predominantly a blend of 60% Syrah and 30% Grenache and originates from sloping vineyards that lie at up to 500 metres above sea level. Vidal Fleury was founded in 1781 and is the oldest wine house in the Rhône. From their base amongst the Cote Rotie vineyards they make a full range of wines from across the whole Rhône.
The producer –
Founded in 1781, Vidal-Fleury is located in the midst of the Côte-Rôtie vineyards in the Northern Rhône, and is the oldest continuously operating wine producer in the Rhône Valley. Since the early days Vidal-Fleury has established a reputation for the production of high quality wines which show individuality and the typicity of the different Rhône appellations from which they come.
Vidal-Fleury’s renaissance began in 1984 when it was purchased by the Guigal family whose support allowed the business to flourish whilst still allowing it to operate independently.
However the real and most substantial changes have taken place during the last few years. A brand new winery opened in 2008 allowing Vidal. Shortly afterwards new winemaker Guy Sarton du Jonchay joined the company bringing with him extensive winemaking experience in the Rhône Valley and he has made great improvements to the wine range.

Delivery Charges
Delivery in St Albans is FREE for orders over £85, for orders less than £85 the charge is £5.
Postal delivery of tasting tickets and vouchers is also FREE if this option is chosen.
Our standard national delivery charge is £10 and is FREE for all orders over £250. The standard delivery is next day for all orders placed by 12noon and the following day for all orders received later than that.
Arrangements in case you’re out at the time of delivery
Please leave clear instructions in the special instructions section on the checkout page so the wine can be left in a safe place to suit you. As our delivery service requires a signature then if your wine is not signed for it is left at your risk and losses are not replaceable. If instructions are not left a card will be put through your door asking you to contact the carrier to arrange re-delivery or collection within 2 days.
