Flagship Wines range of New Zealand’s wines includes some made from the expected varieties including

Sauvignon Blanc: which is the grape variety that put NZ wines on the map with its easy drinking yet stylish crisp zestiness and pure fruit notes which are evident in all varieties due to the climate and proximity to the sea of the majority of vineyards.

Chardonnay: with its clean youthful citrus notes from cooler regions such as Central Otago especially when it is unoaked or with toasty ripe fruit notes when carefully oak aged and offering Burgundian Chardonnay styles.

Pinot Noir: is one of the most exciting grapes that produces world class wines. It is at its best when grown in Martinborough on North Island and in Central Otago in South Island when the wines are full of fruit with peppery spice overtones and are more structured than those from Marlborough that are soft and slightly sweeter.

In addition, we are really pleased to include varieties that until recently were not expected in a New Zealand range of wines especially aromatic one such as:

Pinot Gris: elegant wines with aromas of pears and stone fruits that can be dry or off-dry

Riesling: wines that capture the floral grapey notes again ranging from dry to off dry in great style.

Gewurztraminer: this love it or hate it variety has a good home in New Zealand with tangy wines full of lychees, spice, white pepper and Turkish Delight……..

Syrah: produces great structured wines with full ripe damson fruit – the best are from Hawkes Bay

Cabernet Sauvignon: again lovely balanced wines with spice and fruit with oaky overtones.
