There are five main states in the US producing wine and Flagship Wines is pleased to offer wines from 2 of them: California and Washington State. California is by far the biggest producing state making 90% of the country’s wine and despite having a reputation for big oaky Chardonnays and robust slightly sweet reds it is now showing more subtle ripe flavours such as those from Hahn Estates in Monterey.
The cooler climate in Washington State is reflected in the more restrained styles made by Chateau Ste Michelle and also throughout California Zinfandel (aka Primitivo in Southern Italy) is still the archetypal rich structured full on red with some appealing lighter styles now on the market such as the Scotto wine.
